Frequently Asked Questions

Stretchmarks occur when skin stretches or contracts rapidly due to sudden height or weight changes. Common triggers include puberty growth spurts, pregnancy, rapid weight gain or loss, and muscle building. The rapid change leaves behind scar tissue that appears as linear marks.
Red or purple stretchmarks are early-stage scars with active blood vessel formation. White or silver marks are mature scars where inflammation has resolved.
Complete removal is uncommon, but significant improvement is achievable. Red or purple marks respond better to treatment than white or silver marks. Early intervention when marks are still red provides optimal results. Mature marks can be improved but typically show less dramatic change.
Most patients experience minimal discomfort; numbing or cooling may be used depending on treatment intensity.
